Batten Screws are heavy duty screws which are commonly used in landscaping and for fixing together timber frames These screws have a bugle head (self embedding ribs), a Type 17 point for self drilling into wood (although hardwoods will need a pilot hole) and are14 gauge in thickness. Batten screws will normally have a 5mm hex drive which prevents bit slippage when fastening these screws. Most commonly Bugle Batten Screws are galvanised, but they are also available in stainless steel, either 304 or 316 grade. Batten Screws are available in lengths from 50mm up to 200mm.
