Sunshine Coast is the third most populated area in Queensland. Located 100km north of the state capital Brisbane and on the Pacific Ocean, its urban area spans approximately 60km of coastline from Pelican Waters to Tewantin. The estimated population of the Sunshine Coast in 2015 was 302,122.
Tourism is an important industry across coastal hubs in the area such as Caloundra, Kawana Waters, Maroochydore and Noosa Heads.
